Computer Ports & Adapters

In this room you can connect your computer via HDMI. A usb-c to HDMI adapter is provided in the room. Older computers without USB-C and without HDMI built-in can check out an adapter from Academic Technology in LIB 80.

TURNING ON THE SYSTEM

STEP 1: Press main power switch above control panel

STEP 2: Press the ON button at the top left corner of the Pixie Pro panel Panel will light up; ceiling projector will be on after 30-seconds. Fully wait for projector to warm up before proceeding.

CONNECTING A LAPTOP: VGA OR HDMI

STEP 1: At the middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the appropriate source button when using: 

VGA cable: VGA or LAPTOP
HDMI cable: HDMI

STEP 2: Connect VGA (15-pin) or HDMI (small trapezoid) cable to laptop (respective laptops may require adapters).
(When using VGA, plug the attached audio-cord into laptop's headphone jack for sound)

STEP 3: For audio volume, toggle the knob labeled MAIN on the left audio control panel.
The light next to the knob must be GREEN. If RED, press the button underneath. 

Mirroring your display

Mac: COMMAND  + F1 (COMMAND + dim brightness on macs with a touchbar)
Windows: WINDOWS SYMBOL + P, then select DUPLICATE

RECEIVING CABLECAST

STEP 1: At the middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the source button labeled CAMPUS TV or TUNER.

STEP 2: Select the desired cable channel using the channel UP/DOWN buttons on the bottom left of the Pixie Pro panel.
Verify the channel at the top of the projected image.  

STEP 3: For audio volume, toggle the knob labeled MAIN on the left audio control panel.
The light next to the knob must be GREEN. If RED, press the button underneath. 

STEP 4: Call x15103 to start the cablecast.

USING THE VCR/DVD PLAYER

STEP 1: At the middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the source button labeled DVD/VCR.

STEP 2: Inside the cabinet, turn on VCR/DVD combo player. Insert media and press play.

STEP 3: For audio volume, toggle the knob labeled MAIN on the left audio control panel.
The light next to the knob must be GREEN. If RED, press the button underneath. 

USING THE BLU-RAY PLAYER

STEP 1: At the middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the source button labeled BLU-RAY.

STEP 2: Inside the cabinet, turn on Blu-ray player. Insert media and press play.

STEP 3: For audio volume, toggle the knob labeled MAIN on the left audio control panel.
The light next to the knob must be GREEN. If RED, press the button underneath. 

USING THE DOCUMENT CAMERA

STEP 1: At the middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the source button labeled DOCUMENT CAMERA.

STEP 2: Document camera is located on a sliding tray inside the cabinet. Slide out the tray, erect the arms, and press the power button. 

STEP 3: Place desired item on the surface of the document camera to project onto the screen.
