Computer Ports & Adapters

In this room, you can connect your computer to HDMI ports. Make sure you have the right adapter(s) before coming to class. Please note that the adapters in this table are just examples. Adapters vary by brand, color, shape, etc.

HDMI Computers without a built-in HDMI port will require an adapter. You can reserve one by calling (415)405-5555 or emailing at@sfsu.edu. Please include the model number of your computer so you can be matched with the appropriate adapter.

TURNING ON THE SYSTEM

STEP 1: Press the ON button at the top left corner of the Pixie Pro panel

STEP 2: Panel will light up, and the ceiling projector will turn on. Please give it 30 seconds for the projector to fully warm up.

CONNECTING A LAPTOP: HDMI

STEP 1: At the top-middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the source button labeled HDMI

STEP 2: Connect the HDMI (small trapezoid) cable to laptop (respective laptops may require adapters).

STEP 3: For audio volume, toggle the knob labeled MAIN on the left sound control panel.
The light next to the knob must be GREEN. If RED, press the button underneath. 

Mirroring your display

Mac: COMMAND  + F1 (COMMAND + dim brightness on macs with a touchbar)
Windows: WINDOWS SYMBOL + P, then select DUPLICATE

RECEIVING CABLECAST

STEP 1: At the top-middle of the Pixie Pro panel, press the source button labeled CAMPUS TV or TUNER.

STEP 2: Select the desired cable channel using the channel UP/DOWN buttons on the bottom left of the Pixie panel. 
Verify the channel at the top of the projected image.  

STEP 3: For audio volume, toggle the knob labeled MAIN on the left sound control panel.
The light next to the knob must be GREEN. If RED, press the button underneath. 

STEP 4: Call x15103 to start the cablecast.
