Computer Ports & Adapters

In this room you can connect your computer via HDMI. A usb-c to HDMI adapter is provided in the room. Older computers without USB-C and without HDMI built-in can check out an adapter from Academic Technology in LIB 80.

Using the projectors

  1. Plug in your laptop using the HDMI cable on the top of the podium
  2. Press the On button in Projectors the AV panel on the top left of the podium
  3. Select Laptop in Source to Displays
  4. (optional) If you wish to use the TVs in addition to the projectors, press the On button in TVs. Note that the TVs may take a few seconds to turn on after pushing the button and may not all turn on at once.

Audio Controls

Volume controls for the room are on the right side of the tablet. Each volume slider is labelled. Sliding your finger on the volume control from bottom to top will increase the volume (shown by a white bar). From top to bottom will decrease the volume (gray means the volume is completely turned down). A meter will appear next to each volume control indicating the level of the signal coming through. From left to right, the volume sliders are:
  • Mics Room Volume - This is the level of amplification for all microphones in the room
  • Lectern Mic - This is the mic located on the lectern itself
  • Ceiling Mic - This is the ceiling tile mic
  • Media Room Volume - This is the volume control for audio coming from a connected laptop


You can also mute and unmute the lectern mic using the button on the microphone itself.

Note

After your session is over, please make sure to turn off the projectors and the TVs in the room by pressing the Off button in each of the boxes on the AV panel. If the equipment is left on it may not work correctly for the next person to use the room.
